Facebook/Twitter – Each new “Like” on our Baylor Energy Madness Facebook page or follow on Twitter is worth one bonus point.

Dr Pepper Hour – Attend the Baylor Facility Services/Energy Program sponsored Dr Pepper Hour on Tuesday, September 27th from 3-4 p.m. on the first floor of the SUB and sign in at the Baylor Facility Services/Energy Program table. Your hall will receive one point for every signature.

Video Competition (10 points per video) – Submit a short video (max 2 minutes) of how you and your friends are saving energy and why it’s important. Each entry receives 10 points for their residence hall.  Videos must be submitted by email to energy@baylor.edu by Friday, September 30th. The videos will be posted on Facebook, and the video with the most “likes” will be the winner. An additional 25 points will be awarded to the hall with the winning video.

Energy Scavenger Hunt – During the first week of the competition, we will post a list of items that you are encouraged to find. Then, email a picture of the items along with your name and residence hall to energy@baylor.edu. For every item, the corresponding hall will receive a point. The hall with the most points wins the Scavenger Hunt. Deadline to submit items is Thursday, September 22nd. Points for this event will be awarded as follows:

Winner - 25 points     /     2nd place - 15 points     /     3rd place – 10 points     /     4th place – 5 points

Dark Hour – On Wednesday, October 5th from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., students in each residence hall are encouraged to turn off lights and anything else that can possibly be turned off or unplugged in order to see how large of an energy reduction the hall can achieve. Points for this event will be awarded as follows:

Winner – 25 points     /     2nd place – 15 points     /     3rd place – 10 points     /     4th place – 5 points

Light Bulb Exchange – On Wednesday, October 5th, put a regular 60 watt light bulb in the collection box at your front desk, sign the list indicating that you put a bulb in the box, and go back by your front desk after 3:30 p.m. and pick up your brand new CFL. (One bulb per person.) For every bulb exchanged, the corresponding hall will receive a point. The hall with the most points wins the Light Bulb Exchange. Points for this event will be awarded as follows:

Zero Energy Break Pledge – Earn bonus points for your residence hall by promising to unplug all unnecessary appliances before you leave campus for Fall Break. Sign the pledge at the Energy Program table in the lobby of the BDSC October 3-7. A copy of the Zero Energy Break Pledge will also be at the desk in each residence hall from October 1-7. Each (legible) signature is worth one point. Deadline is Friday, October 7th.

Pledge Challenge – During the competition, write a pledge that you want to make (I pledge to turn my lights out when I leave my room!) on a whiteboard or a piece of paper, have your picture taken with the pledge and email the picture to energy@baylor.edu. Your hall will receive one bonus point for each pledge. The deadline to submit pledges is Friday, September 23rd.

Energy Trivia – During the competition, we will post five energy trivia questions on the Baylor Energy Madness Facebook page. Email the answer to the questions along with your name and residence hall to energy@baylor.edu. Students will also be able to answer all 5 questions at the Energy Awareness Program table in the lobby of the BDSC October 3-7. Each questionnaire that is turned in is worth 2 bonus points. Deadline to turn in the questionnaire is Friday, October 7th.
